Common pet poisons - pet poison prevention

It can seem like the world is full of things that can be poisonous to pets! In aid of Pet Poison Awareness week, we wanted to give you the low down on some of the more common household poisons that we see affecting pets that come to the clinic.

  • Chocolate

  • Lilies

  • Grapes

  • Anti-freeze (Ethylene Glycol)

  • Onions

  • Xylitol

  • Alcohol

  • Caffeine

  • Avocados

  • Some types of mushrooms

So unless you know that it is safe to give, better to be safe than sorry. Of course, if you are ever worried about anything that your pet might have eaten, call us straight away, we will be glad to help.
